BRAC founder “Fazle Hasan Abed” has died.

‘Fazle Hasan Abed’  Founder of BRAC died on Friday night. He was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in the capital. Fazle Hasan Abed is one of the Bangladeshi people who known around the world for his work. He is the founder of BRAC. He founded it in1972 and now it is recognized as the ‘largest’ NGO in the world. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has condoled the death of Fazle Hasan Abed.

Fazle Hasan Abed was born in 1936. He studied higher education in London about accounting science. Fazle Hasan Abed founded BRAC at the age of 36. He was the executive director of BRAC until 2001. He left this post at 65 years old and join as chairman of the BRAC. He retired from the post of chairperson a few months ago.

Fazle Hasan Abed has been awarded numerous honors in life after receiving the Magsaysay Award in 1980. These include the World Food Award, the Spanish Order of Civil Merit, the Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau, the Liu Tolstoy International Gold Medal, and more. Fazle Hasan Abed was one of the world Leaders between the top 50 according to Fortune Magazines in 2014 and 2017.

BRAC officially said that his body will be kept at the Army Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday morning from 10:30 am to 12:30 am for a public tribute. The funeral will be at the same place after the tribute. He will be buried at Banani Cemetery in Dhaka after the funeral
